Dinajpur Review

The summary review is shown below.

Summary

The final reckoning is shown in the table below. Overall we rate it a disappointing 17.0 Taj Mahals

This was our 1st formal visit to the Dinajpur although some of us had been here before, either for sit down or take-aways.  The overall view seems to be this was average food at a top notch price.  The score sheets show a great level of similarity between the comments and the actual scores.  Overall people were not happy with the wait and the general average state of most food.  There were some good things to report but they were in the minority I'm afraid.

I don't think I need to write anything else here as Graeme has provided a first rate synopsis of the evening.

Other Comments

Here is a selection of some of the other comments from the evening......

  • Late!
  • Too long a wait
  • Starters - fresh and tasty but not brilliant
  • Flat and cold onion bhajis
  • A lot of waiting
  • Well presented table
  • Odd contemporary music
  • Odd upper lower seating split. Is it a restaurant or a take away?
  • Good main courses
  • Side dishes generally good
  • Nice vegetables but cauliflower too mushy
  • Water on table was a nice touch
  • Good nans and breads
  • Kitchen viewing a worry
  • Expensive - possibly the most we have ever paid
  • Waiter showed no interest in letting us leave with a warm feeling

And another word from Dr Bloyce:

"Not a Balti"
