Eastern Paradise - Feb 2005

The summary review is shown below.

Summary

Twas a cool February evening when 10 stalwart members of the MKCC arrived at the Queen Victoria.  Very much a local with emphasis on youth and smoke.  I was glad to leave to be honest.

It was more than two years ago that we visited the Eastern Paradise so we were interested to see how things had changed over that time.  Looking at the review of our last visit it clearly should be promising, big menu and good food and service.

The jovial Manager Syed welcomed us with open arms saying he had been waiting for our return.  He was clearly hoping to impress and must be commended for his attentive service throughout the evening.

We had a great evening!  Generally the food was of higher than average quality.  Some of the notable excellent dishes were those with chicken, Sag Paneer was possibly the best in MK, good bread and rice.

On the negative side a number of us reported cold starters and some of the lamb was perhaps a little too tough.  But that aside generally very good.

Rookie Steve and Richard B performed the kitchen inspection and were both quite amazed by how clean it was.  Interestingly we reported the same over 2 years ago at our last visit so well done Eastern Paradise.

So in summary, what do you get if you put together good food and service - happy punters.  OK so this is Wolverton and perhaps not where you would immediately think for a night out but this is offset by the cost.  This is not an expensive place to eat and in fact is the cheapest based on our common curry costs.  Our VFM score was boosted by the generous 25% food discount which was appreciated by all.

So well done to the Eastern Paradise in 2005!  A certificate of excellence is on the way.

  • Lamb not as tender as it could be
  • Best Sag Paneer ever
  • Service perhaps a bit OTT but you can hardly complain
