| Mahabharat Review - September 2005For personal detailed reviews of the restaurant click on the links to the left. The summary review is shown below. SummarySo here we are at the start of the new curry season and our first visit is off to Winslow. 11 of us turned up including local celebrity headteacher Steve Upton. Our pre-curry visit was to the Bell pub, a pleasant hostelry with some decent beer and just opposite the Marabharat. Initial impressions of the Mahabharatwere very good. Richard Bland noted he used to clean the carpets some years ago but clearly the restaurant has no need of Mr Bland's cleaning services as the carpet is only 2 months old (we asked) The final score was a disappointing 17.5. The general consensus on the food was that it was ok but not particularly exciting. Vegetables were reasonable, bread good but a lot of people felt the main dishes a little bland. Now we have to turn to value for money. Not good but I guess if this is the "only indian in the village" perhaps this is not surprising. The common curry costs are in the upper quartile. If you want a cheaper meal go to one of the cheaper establishments in MK.
