| Passage to India Review - April 2004[Visit the Information Page for this Restaurant] For personal detailed reviews of the restaurant click on the links to the left. The summary review is shown below. SummarySo here we are back at the Passage to India in Stony, last visited almost exactly 2 years ago. Last time round the Passage to India provided us with a very pleasant experience and scored 20 TMs. By the way, any restaurant that gets 20 or more TMs is well worth a visit in our eyes. In many respects our second visit was pretty consistent with the first. This restaurant scored highly on on its quality of service and cleanliness. Particular thanks should go to the manager Muj who is clearly concerned that his customers have a pleasant dining experience. He also has a great sense of humour and joined the club members in some tongue in cheek curry club banter. He had even checked out the score from our 1st visit before the evening and clearly wanted to make this an even better evening. 10 out of 10! So onto the scores. The Passage to India has managed to slightly improve its score by one half of a point to 20.5. The general feedback about the food was that it was good but again not inspiring. Again, there were a range of opinions about particular dishes. Highlights for me were the Lamb Bahari, Sag Paneer and poppadoms. Some of the lamb was incredibly tender while some other larger pieces in other dishes were quite tough. Muj did try and persuade us to go for a new Chicken dish which he rated so perhaps we should have followed his advice. BUT this goes to prove that a restaurant that cares about its customers will leave them with a smile and a good MKCC score. This latest score puts the Passage to India close to the Bekash. I should also mention that the Passage to India is a good value establishment on the basis of the Common Curry costs. ....and we still all love Bangla beer!
