Rose of India Review

[Visit the Information Page for this Restaurant]

The summary review is shown below.

Summary

It was a rather tentative gathering down at good old Bletchley.  The famous Golden Curry failed to live up to its reputation in 2002 and we all were concerned that the less well attended Rose of India next door could be a real disappointment.

The final reckoning for the Rose of India is shown in the table below. Overall we rate it a well deserved 24.5  Taj Mahals.

Initial impressions were good. Decor quite modern which is not always to everyone's taste in a curry house but smartly set tables all the same.

What really impressed everyone was the quality of all the food from poppadoms, dips, starters and main dishes.  Usually a meeting will uncover a range of feelings but in this case we all agreed on the quality of the well presented food.  My favourites where the chilli keema nan and the tender lamb in my main dish.  Also the really fresh and varied side salad that came with the starters.  Not the jaded limp affair that you often get.

The final good news was the excellent service from Shah and his colleagues.  Helpful and attentive with some helpful recommendations along the way.

Well done to the Rose of India.  This is the best score so far !!  They deserve more attention from the Golden Curry gang.  We also noted a delivery service so why not give them a try.
